ALMOST READY

I know I know!!! It has been too long since I posted anything, but our life has been pretty uneventful. Our plan is still to leave Oklahoma City sometime in the latter part of August and head out on our first big adventure. We have been trying to get everything in order so that we can accomplish that goal.

Last week we finally got the Jeep back from the body shop. For those of you that don't know, as soon as we bought it the following week we took it back to the dealer to have the windows tinted and detailed. I had just switched the insurance the day before. The night we took it to the dealer there was a BAD hailstorm. The jeep was beat up so badly that it cost $6000.00 to have it repaired. They even had to cut the whole roof off and replace it. The repair shop said we would get it back in about 10 days but it took almost a month. At least we have it back now!! YIPPEE...

The other major obstacle to our adventure beginning sooner was Ed's sinus surgery. It was supposed to happen in May, but for one reason or another it is now scheduled for August 8th. I did ask the doctor yesterday just how long after the surgery can we leave and he said 10 days. I couldn't believe it.  We might actually get on the road in less than a month.

Hope to see you back soon.

  1. You said you didn't have anything to write about, but it seems that you did and just forgot to include the details (Hail Storm, Body Shop, Ed's Surgery). It does take a while to get the hang of posting on a regular or nearly regular basis. You will be the one who determines how often that takes place.

Good luck to Ed for the upcoming surgery. Had mine fixed in 93 and wished it would have been done years before.

    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  2. Thanks Rick for the words of encouragement on the blog. I am not used to telling anyone about myself and this is going to be a work in progress.
